Equal volumes of two solutions contain 50 g of sodium chloride and 50 g of potassium chloride respectively. Are their molarities equal ?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

No, their molarities are not equal. Because molarity is defined as number of moles of solute per litre of the solution. Since, volume remains same but number of moles of sodium chlorides `(50/(58.5))` and potassium chloride `(50/(75.5))` are different.
