Calculate the number of electron, proton and neutron in aluminuim ion (Al3+)

Following factors increase the corrosion :
i) Position of metal in the electro-chemical series : The reactivity of a metal depends upon its position in the electro-chemical series. Higher the metal in the series, greater will be the reactivity, and hence greater will be the tendency to undergo corrosion.
ii) Presence of impurities : Impurities help in setting up electrochemical series. These increase the rate of corrosion.
iii) Presence of electrolyte : Presence of electrolyte in water increases the rate of corrosion.
iv) Air and moisture : Air and moisture are quite helpful in corrosion.
v) Rough surface of metal : Rough surfaces of metal also increase the rate of corrosion.
