The formation of alcohol from alkene by addition of diborane is known as hydroboration oxidation reaction. In this process, oxidation is carried by `H_(2)O_(2)`. This can be explained by taking an example as given below:
Here, addition of diborane is according to Anti-Markovnikov.s rule.
