Why is the ester distilled as fast as it is formed during the preparation of esters from the reaction between alcohol and carboxylic acid ?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

When we treat alcohol with carboxylic acid, esters are formed. This process is known as esterification process. In this process we are to distill ester as fast as it is formed during the preparation as it is a reversible process in which ester is again converted to alcohol and acid e.g.
