We are given that Mass of chlorophyll= 100g
100g of chlorophyll contains = 2.68 g of Mg
We are to calculate the number of magnesium atoms in 2.0g chlorophyll.
`therefore` 2g of chlorophyll would contain `= (2.68)/(100) xx 2= 5.36 xx 10^(-2)g` of Mg
Gram atomic mass of magnesium = 24g
24g of magnesium contains = `6.023 xx 10^(23)` atoms
1g of Mg will contain = `(6.023)/(24) xx 10^(23)` atoms `5.36 xx 10^(-2)g` of Mg will contain `=(6.023 xx 10^(23))/(24)xx 5.36 xx 10^(-2)= 1.34 xx 10^(21)` atoms.
