How much copper can be obtained from 100g of copper sulphate ?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

We are given a compound `CuSO_(4)`
We are to find out the amount of copper obtained from 100g of `CuSO_(4)`
We know that,
Molar mass of `CuSO_(4) = 63.6 + 32 + 64= 159.6u`
159.6g `CuSO_(4)` gives copper= 63.6g
`100g CuSO_(4)` will give `= (63.6 xx 100)/(159.6)g` of copper = 39.85 g of copper
