We are given that Weight of `NaOH= 0.38g`
Total volume of solution = 50.0 mL
We know that, molarity `= ("Number of moles of solute")/("Volume of solution in litres")` ..(i)
Number of moles of NaOH solute `=("Weight of NaOH")/("Molar mass of NaOH")` ..(ii)
Molar mass of NaOH= Atomic mass of Na+ Atomic mass of O + Atomic mass of H
`=23+16+1=40` g/mol
Substituting these values in equation (ii) we get
Number of moles of NaOH solute `=(0.38g)/(40g//mol)= 0.0095` mol ...(iii)
Volume of solution in litres =50 mL `=(50)/(1000) L [(1000mL=1L),(therefore 1mL= L//1000)]`
By putting the above values in equation (i), we get, molarity `=(0.0095 "mol")/(50L) xx 1000= 0.19M`
