What will be the wavelength of a ball of mass 0.1 kg moving with a velocity of `10 ms ^(-1).`

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

We are given that
Mass of ball (m) = 0.1 kg
Velocity of ball `(v) = 10 ms ^(-1)`
Value of Planck.s constant (h)
`6.62 xx 10 ^(-34) Js = 6.62 xx 10 ^(-34) kg m ^(2) s ^(-1)`
We are to find out the wavelength `(lamda)` of a ball
Using the relatin ,` lamda = ( h)/( mv)`
Putting all these values in equation (i) , we get
`lamda = ( 6.626 xx 10 ^(-34) kg m ^(2) s ^(-1))/( 0.1 kg xx 10 ms ^(-1))`
`lamda = 6.626 xx 10 ^(-34) m `
