Diborane combines with ammonia to form an addition product `(B,H_(2)NH_(2))`. When this product is heated at 470K temperature, it decomposes and gives a volatile compound known as borazole. It is also known as borazine or inorganic benzene.
`B_(2)H_(6) + 2NH_(3) overset("low temp.") to B_(2)H_(6).2NH_(3)`
`3B_(2)H_(6)2NH_(3)overset(470 K)to underset("Borazole")(2B_(3)N_(3)H_(6) + 12H_(2))`
The structure of borazolen can be shown as given below .
