Depending upon the linkages of `SiO_(4)^(4-)` tetrahedral units, the silicates may be classified into following types.
(i) Ortho silicates : These are the simple silicates containing discrete `SiO_(4)^(4-)` units. For example .

(ii) Pyrosilicates or islands : When two `SiO_(4)^(4-)` tetrahedral share a common oxygen, island like structure is obtained. For example, Thortveitite, hemimorphite.

(iii) Cyclic silicates: When two oxygen of each `SiO_(4)^(4-)`tetrahedron are shared with others, cyclic or ring structures are obtained. For example, Wollastonite, beryl etc.

(iv) Chain silicates : Chain silicates are also formed by the sharing of two oxygen atoms of each `SiO_(4)^(4-)` units. For example, pyroxenes, diopside and asbestos etc.

(v) Sheet silicates Sheet silicates are formed by sharing of three oxygen atoms of each `SiO_(4)^(4-)`unit. For example, talc, clay etc.
(vi ) Three dimensional silicates :Three dimensional silicates are formed when all the four oxygen of `SiO_(4)^(4-)` unit are shared with other silicate units. They form a three dimensional network. For example, quartz, tridymite and cristobalite.

Plant T_(1) produces 20% and plant T_(2) produces 80% of the total computers produced . 7% of the computers produced in the factory turn out to be defective. It is known that P (computer turns out to be defective givent that it is produced in plant T_(1)) = 10 P ( computer turns out to be defective given that it is produced in plant T_(2)), where P (E) denotes the probability of an event E.
