(i) Zeolites are used as a catalyst in petrochemical industries. These are used for cracking of hydrocarbons and for isomerisation.
(ii) ZSM-5 (a type of zeolite) is used to convert alcohols directly into gasoline.
(iii) Hydrated zeolites are used as ion exchangers in softening of hard water.
