Explanation

Air pollution means presence of undesirable components and harmful chemicals in the air. Tropospheric pollutant may be gaseous or particulate in nature.
i) Gaseous air pollutants: Oxides of sulphur, nitrogen , carbon, hydrogen sulphide, ozone and other oxidants are called gaseous air pollutants.
ii) Particulate pollutants : Dust, fumes, mist, spray, smoke etc. are called particulate pollutants.
