The only way to minimise this error is by taking large number of observations . By taking the arithmetic mean of all the observations, we can get the best possible value. If `x_(1),x_(2),x_(3),…..x_(n)` are the observed values, then the best of observed quantity is given by
`barx=x_("mean")=(x_(1)+x_(2)+.....+x_(n))/(n)`. Or `barx=(sum_(i=1)^(n)x_(i))/(n)`. It can be assumed to be the true value of the quantity.
