We know that, limiting friction is directly proportional to the normal reaction between the surfaces in contact.
i.e. `(f_(x))_("max") prop R` or `(f_(s))_("max")= mu_(s)R` or `mu_(s)= ((f_(s))_("max"))/(R)`
Here is coefficient of static friction. It is equal to the ratio of limiting value of friction and normal reaction.
