During a certain-wind storm, light roofs are blown off. Why?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

During storms or cyclones, the roofs of the huts are generally blown off without causing damage to the house. This is because, due to high velocity of the wind blowing over the roof the pressure above the roof decreases. As the pressure above the roof is less than below the roof, therefore the roof of the hut is lifted up and is blown off by the wind.
