The excess pressure inside a soap bubble...

The excess pressure inside a soap bubble of 2 m diameter is `5Nm^(2)`. What will be the surface tension of the soap bubble?

Text Solution

We are given : D=2 m or r=1 m, `P-P_(a)=5Nm^(-2)`
We are to calculate, Surface tension, S
Using relation, `P-P_(a)=(4S)/(r)`
We have, `S=((P-P_(a))r)/(4)=(5xx1)/(4)=1.25Nm^(-1)`
