The source temperature of a carnot engin...

The source temperature of a carnot engine is `127^(@)C`. It takes 400 cal heat from the source and rejects 300 cal to sink during each cycle. What is temperature of the sink?

We are given:
`Q_(2) = 300` cal
`Q_(1) = 400` cal
  Source temperature, `T_(1) = 127^(@)C = 127 + 273 = 400 K`.
We are to calculate sink temperature, `T_(2)`
  Since `T prop Q`.
Therefore, `(T_(2))/(T_(1)) = (Q_(2))/(Q_(1))` or `(T_(2))/(400) = (300)/(400)`
`T_(2) = 300 K = 27^(@)C`.
