Write expression for n-capacitors connected in series .

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

For n-capacitors, we can write `(1)/(C_(S))=(1)/(C_(1))+(1)/(C_(2))+(1)/(C_(3))+ ------+(1)/(C_(n))implies(1)/(C_(S))=Sigma_(i=1)^(n)(1)/(C_(l))`
Hence, the reciprocal of equivalent capacity of n capacitors connected in series is equal to the sum of reciprocal of individual capacities . Clearly, `C_(S)` is less than the least of `C_(1),C_(2),C_(3), -------, C_(n)` .
