We are given `I. = 2I`
We know that, `R = rho (I)/( A)`,
Since, volume remains same, therefore `A.I. = AI rArr A (l)/(I.) = (Al)/(2l) = (A)/(2)`
i.e., when length increases to double of it.s initial length then area reduces to half of its initial value, the new resistance, `R . = rho (l.)/( A.) = rho (2l)/( A//2) = 4R`
