Swami Dayanand was a great saint. One day he was going back to his Ashram after taking bath in the sacred river Ganga. A man came there from the opposite direction. He started abusing Swamiji. Swamiji overheard him and did not reply. Mean-while another unknown man came there. He said to Swamiji, "This man is abusing you for a considerably long time. You are very strong and stout. Why are you Language tolerating him? You should have beaten him." Swamiji smiled and said, "My dear friend, if someone is giving you something and you do not accept it, then what will happen.?" "It will remain with that man" the man replied. Swamiji said, "You are right. I have not accepted his abuses. The abuses would remain with him." Hearing this, the man who was abusing Swamiji felt sorry and begged pardon from Swamiji.
