Concentrated H(2)SO(4) has a density 1 ....

Concentrated `H_(2)SO_(4)` has a density 1 . 9 g/mL and is ` 99% H_(2) SO_(4)` by mass. Calculate the molarity of the acid

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Given density d = 1.9 g/mol
99% `H_2SO_4` by weight mans 99 g of `H_2SO_4` present in 1000 g of solution
As we know `d=M/V`
`1.9 =(100)/V`
`= ((99//98)/(100))/(1.9xx1000)`
`=99/98xx(1.9xx1000)/(100)=19.19M`
