Lyophilic Colloids : Lyophilic (or solvent loving) colloids are those in which the dispersion phase possesses greater affinity (or love) for the dispersed medium. For e.g. starch, glue etc.
Lyophobic Colloids : Lyophobic (or solvent hating) colloids are those in which the dispersion phase has no affinity (or hate) for dispersed medium. For e.g. Gold Sol, silver sol etc.
