Molecularity of are action

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The number of reacting species (molecule, atoms or ion) which collide simultaneously (at one time) to bring about a chemical reaction is called molecularity of a reaction. e.g. The decomposition of hydrogen peroxide involves single species which undergoes the change to form the product it a unimolecular reaction.
e.g. `H_2O_2 to H _2O + 1/2 O_2 ` (unimolecular reaction)
`NH_4NO_2 to N_2 + 2H_2O `(bimolecular reaction)
