For a zero order reaction
A `to` product
the rate constant is given for this equation
`k = ([A]_0 - [A])/(t) " " .....(1)`
We know that, half life period means that initial concentration reduced to half i.e.
`t = t_(1/2) " " [A] = ([A]_0)/(2) " "....(2)`
Put value of (2) in equation (1)
`k = ([A]_0 - ([A]_0)/(2))/(t_(1/2))`
`k = ([A]_0)/(2t_(1/2))`
`t_(1/2) = ([A]_0)/(2k)`
It shows that `t_(1/2)` for a zero order reaction is directly proportional to initial concentration of reactant and inversely proportional to rate constant.
