Arrhenius proposed a quantitative relationship between rate constant and temperature
`k = Ae^(-E_a//RT)`
The equation is called Arrhenius equation in which constant. `A` is known Arrhenius factor or frequency factor
It is given by
`k = A e^(-E_a//RT)`
taking log both side
`ln k = ln A - (E_a)/R xx 1/T`
Converting to common logarithm
`2.303 log k = 2.303 log A - (E_a)/(RT)`
`log k = log A - (E_a)/(2.303RT)`
Increasing the temperature or decreasing the activation energy will result in increase in rate of reaction.
Second Method : `E_a` and A determines by measuring the value of rate constant at two difference. Let `k_1 and k_2` are rate constants for this reaction at two different.
`log k_1 = log A - (E_a)/(2.303RT_1) " " ....(1)`
`log k_2 = log A - (E_a)/(2.303 RT) " " .....(2)`
Subtracting eqn. (2) and eqn. (1)
`log k_2 = log k_1 = (E_a)/(2.303 R) [(1)/(T_1) - 1/(T_2)]`
`"log" (k_2)/(k_1) = (E_a)/(2.303R) [(T_2 - T_1)/(T_1 xx T_2)]`

Arrhenius studies the effect of temperature on the rate of a reaction and postulted that rate constant varies with temperature exponentially as k=Ae^(E_(a)//RT) .
