The Boiling Point of ethers are lower than isomeric alcohols why ?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Ethers have low polarity and therefore do not show any association by inter-molecular hydrogen bonding. On the other hand, their isomeric alcohols have strong intermolecular hydrogen bonding and therefore their boiling points are higher.
