Phenol are more acidic than alcohol :
The greater acidic character of phenols as compared to alcohals can be explained on the basis ofresonance. Phenol is a Resonanc,e hybrid of the following structures:

It is clear that three structure of phenol (III, IV and V) and + ve charge on oxygen of- OH group. This Oxygen attracts the electron pair of O -H group. This oxygen attracts the electron pair of 0 - H bond strongly towards itself, weakens the O - H bond and, therefore, facilitates the release of `H^(+)` so phenol is more acidic than alcohal. On the other hand, in case of alcohals, neither the alcohol nor the alkoxide ion is stabilized by resonance.

No resonance stabilization for alcohol or alkoxide ion.
Thus, phenol are. more acidic than alcohols. However, phenols are less acidic than cartoxylic acids which is supported by their dissociation constant values.
