Unidentate : When the ligands can donate the pair of electrons from one atom, it is called unidentate ligands, e.g., `NH_(3), H_(2)O, CN^(-)` etc.
The monodentate ligands which can co-ordinate with the central metal atom through more than one site are called ambidentate ligands. For example:
`M leftarrow CN ("Cyaninde") or M leftarrow NC ("isocyanide")`
