Mixture. A mixture is a material which contains two or more substances in any proportion (within certain limits), that is, elements or compounds or both, not chemically combined together. The constituents forming a mixture do not lose their identities. The various substances present in the mixture are known as components or constituent. A mixture may have variable composition. The constituent of a mixture can be separated easily physical methods. A few examples of mixtures are: Sea water, soil, blood, petroleum, kerosene, petrol, oil, liqueified petroleum gas (LPG), compressed natural gas (CNG), steel, bronze, soap, soda water, granite, etc.
