Why do lichens not occur in Delhi where they commonly grow in Manali or Darjeeling ?

It is a bio-indicator and sensitive to `SO_2` pollution from automobiles. Delhi has maximum number automobiles, hence has a highly polluted enrichment. Thus lichens do not occur in Delhi but grow in Manali Darjeeling because of less pollution.
