Why do farmers often irrigate the crop field before sowing the seeds?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Farmers often irrigate the crop field before sowing seeds as water stimulates the seeds to germinate and grow. If seeds are sown in a dry field, they will simply lie dormant under the soil and some of them will not germinate and grow. It will thus effect the yield of crop.
