What would happen if we had no wood? Is there any alternative available for wood?

Explanation

If there were no wood, we would not get any paper, fruits or herbal medicines at all. Woods are cut to make paper and we would not get paper.
But, there is an alternative for saving wood and have paper as well. The already used paper could be recycled 5-7 times and can be used. If a student saves at least one sheet of paper in a day, we can save many trees in a year.
