Define Desertification.

Explanation

Physical properties of the soil get affected by plantation and vegetation. Due to deforestation there is more soil erosion which removes the top layer of the soil and exposes the lower hard and rocky layers. This soil is less fertile which gets converted into deserts. It is called desertification.
