Explanation

ln addition to the cell membrane there is an outer thick layer in cells of plants called cell wall. It gives shape to the cell. Cell wall is required by plant cells for protection against variation in temperature, high wind speed, atmospheric moisture, etc. They are exposed to there variations because they can not move.
