Why do you fall in the forward direction when a moving bus brakes to a stop and falls backward when it accelerates from rest ?

A passenger sitting in a running bus is also motion in the same direction. When the running bus stop suddenly, the lower part of the passenger.s comes to rest, while the upper portion continues to remain in motion. As a result, the passenger is thrown in the forward direction.
