Name the forces acting on a plastic bucket containing water held aove ground level in your hand. Discuss why the forces acting on the bucket do not bring a change in its state of motion.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The two forces acting are muscular force to hold the bucket and gravitational force of the earth. The two force do not bring a change in its state of motion because they are equal in magnitude but opposite in direction. Therefore the net force acting on the bucket is zero.
