How does a parachute help in safe landing of a person?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

If somebody falls from a plane without a parachute the relatively compact body of the person zooms through air like a stone. Parachute creates more air resistance drifting to the ground more slowly and safely. Air resistance can be considered as frictional force acting on the parachute opposite to the declination of gravitational force.
