List various measures for control of noise pollution.

Explanation

To control noise the sources of noise must be controlled. This can be done by,
(i) Installing silencing devices in aircraft engines, transport vehicles, industrial machines and home appliances.
(ii) All noisy operations must be conducted away from any residential area. Noise producing industries should be set up away from such areas.
(iii) Use of automobile horns should be minimised.
(iv) TV and music systems should be run at low volumes.
(v) Trees must be planted along the roads and around buildings to cut down the sounds reaching the residents.
