A wire of length L and 3 identical cells of negligible internal resistance are connected in series. Due to the current, the temperature of the wire is raised by DeltaT in a time t. A number N of similar cells is now connected in series with a wire of the same material and cross-section but of length 2L. The temperature of the wire is raised by the same amount DeltaT in the same time t. the value of N is

Two identical current carrying coaxial loops, carry current I in an opposite sense. A simple amperian loop passes through both of them once. Calling the loop as C, then which statement is correct?

A magnet is suspended vertically from a fixed point by means of a spring, as shown in the figure. One end of the magnet hangs inside a coil of wire. The coil is connected in series with a resistance R. The magnet is displaced vertically a small distance D and the released. shown in the figure variation with time t of the vertical displacement d of the magnet from its equilibrium position. State and explain, by reference to electromagnetic induction, the nature of the oscillations of the magnet. Calculate the angular frequency omega_0 of the oscillations.

Two electrolytic cells containing silver nitrate solution and dilute sulphuric acid solution were connected in series. A steady current of 2.5 amp was passed through them till 1.078 g of silver was deposited? [Ag=107.8g mol^-1, 1f=96500C] What was the weight of oxygen gas liberated?

Two long wires carrying current I_1 and I_2 are arranged as shown in figure. The one carrying current I_1 is along the x-axis. The other carrying current I_2 is along a line parallel to the y-axis given by x=0 and z=d. Find the force exerted at O_2 because of the wire along the x-axis.

Two wires of equal lengths are bent in the form of two loops. One of the loops is a square shaped whreas the other loop is circular. These are suspended in a uniform magnetic field and the same current is passed through them. Which loop will experience greater torque? give reasons.

A metal bar AB can slide on two parallel thick metallic rails separated by a distance l. A resistance R and an inductance L are connected to the rails as shown in the figure. A long straight wire carrying a constant current I_(0) is placed in the plane of the rails and perpendicular to them as shown. The bar AB is held at rest at a distance x_(0) from the long wire. At t=0, it is made to slide on the rails away from wire. Answer the following questions. Find a relation among i, (di)/(dt) and (d phi)/(dt) , where i is the current in the circuit and phi is the flux of the megnetic field due to the long wire through the circuit.
