Write a short note on structure of embryo sac in an angiospermic ovule.

Explanation

Structure of embryo sac (Female gametophyte). Embryo-sac consists of 7 cells and 8 nuclei :
(i) three micropylar cells called egg-apparatus-two synergids and one egg cell/female gamete.
(ii) three cells grouped together at chalazal end called antipodal cells.
(iii) one large central cell with two haploid polar nuclei or a diploid secondary nucleus (2N).
