How do roots take part in vegatative propagation?

Roots. Both tap roots and adventitious roots take part in vegetative propagation. Tap roots of some plants develop adventitious buds to form new plants, e.g., Dalbergia (Sheesham), Guava, Poplar, Albizia, Murraya, Fleshy roots (root tubers) which develop adventitious buds also take part in vegetative propagation, e.g., Sweet Potato, Tapioca, Dahlia, Asparagus.
