Higher organisms have resorted to sexual reproduction inspite of its complexity because sexual reproduction helps (i) production of offspring which is much and strong, superior, better and strong than either of the two parents i.e., hybrid vigour.(ii) introduction of variations contributing to the evolution of new species (iii) the organisms can survive better under unfavourable conditions so Offsprings adapt quickly to the changed environmental conditions.
