Advantages of biogas plants.
(i) Biogas can be burnt in gas stoves to provide heat.
(ii) Biogas can be used for Gas-holder cooking, street-light and driving engines, so is solution to energy crisis.
(iii) Biogas burns without smoke and produces a large amount of heat so helps in controlling air pollution.
(iv) The slurry, left in the plant Digester after the gas is withdrawn, is rich in nitrogenous and phosphorus compounds and forms a good manure.
