Enantiomers and enantiomerism. Stereoisomers related to each other as non superimposable mirror images are called enantiomers and the property is called enantiomerism. The two enantiomers rotate the plane polarised light in opposite directions but to equal extent. For example, following two compounds represents a pair of enantiomers.
