What are ambident uncleophiles ? Explain with an example.

Ambident.nucleophiles : Nucleophiles with two nucleophilic centres are called ambident nucleophiles. For Example : (a) Cyanide group. It is a hybrid of following two structures.
` C = N harr : C = N^(-)`
It can thus act as nucleophile in two different ways i.e., linking through C-atom resulting in alkyl cyanides and through N-atom resulting in isocyanides.
(b) Nitrite ion (0–N=0) : Here linkage through O-atom gives alkyl nitrites while linkage through N-atom gives nitro-alkanes.
