Show that Lenz's law obeys the law of conservation of energy.

When the magnet is moved away or towards the coil then induced current is produced in the coil even in the absence of any source of current in the circuit.
Actually mechanical work has to be done to move the magnet away or towards the coil and this mechanical energy appears in the fom of current (electrical energy). It means mechanical energy is converted into electrical energy and henco we can say that Lenz.s law is a direct consequence of law of conservation of energy.
