Eddy current: The circulating current induced in a conductor due to the changing magnetic flux linked with it is know as eddy current
By replacing the solid metallic core, with a laminated conre (consisting of large number of thin metal sheets insulated from each other), we can minimize the eddy currenis in the transformet.
