The magnetic flux through a coil perpend...

The magnetic flux through a coil perpendicular to its plane and directed into the paper is varying according to the equation `phi = (2t^3 -6t^2-t + 8) `Wb. Calculate the e.m.f. induced in the coil at t = 3s.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

`phi =2t^(3)-t^(2)-t+8`
`e=(d phi)/(dt)` (in magnitude)
`=(d)/(dt) (2t^(3)-6t^(2)-t+8)`
`=6 t^(2)-12 t -1+0`
At t=3 s
`e=6(3)^(2)-12(3) -1`
`=54-36-1=17`
`rArr e=17` volt
