Explain why nuclei of carbon, oxygen, and iron can be found in stars

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Nuclear fusion in stars causes hydrogen nuclei to join together to form helium nuclei. If stars are hot enough, the hydrogen and helium nuclei could join together to form more massive-nuclei, such as car-bon and oxygen. These nuclei can continue to join together and form even more massive nuclei, such as iron.
