Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The correct Answer is:
B

Xylem is the chief conducting tissue of vascular plants responsible for conduction of water and inorganic solutes. The tissue is composed of four kinds of cells: tracheids, vessels (or tracheae), xylem parenchyma and xylem fibres. Vessels (or tracheae) form long tubes or channels for conduction of water and minerals. Xylem parenchyma are living parenchymatous cells present in the xylem. They help in lateral conduction of water and storage of food reserves.
